From "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" website …
“Plus, a very special day has finally arrived. When Ellen heard about HÉLÈNE CAMPBELL, she knew she had to meet her. Hélène was suffering from a severe lung disease, and had a special message for Ellen. She's made a huge impact as an outspoken supporter of organ donations. She met Ellen over Skype, and was finally able to receive her lifesaving transplant! After months of recovery, she is finally healthy enough to come meet Ellen in person. Don't miss this emotional and inspiring meeting that's been a year in the making.”
Hélène appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and met Ellen in person, on Tuesday, February 19th, 2013. Thank you to Ellen DeGeneres and the entire crew of the show! Hélène is forever grateful to Ellen DeGeneres for the international attention Ellen has brought to the cause of organ and tissue donation.
Since her double lung transplant, Hélène’s primary focus has been on her recovery. Hélène has also had a busy schedule of public speaking engagements. She continues to actively promote the cause that is near and dear to her heart: to increase the number of registered organ and tissue donors by encouraging those around her to talk about organ and tissue donation.
Hélène’s passion for helping others has motivated her to join the Transplant Campaign Cabinet at the Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation. She is excited to share a project that will help save lives and inform people around the world about how they can join the movement and Give2Live!
